Oh No, The Afterlife recently participated in the Battle of the Bands week #4 held at the Altar Bar where I had the pleasure of photographing them. They were the only Heavy Metal band of the evening and they poured their heart and soul into their performance.

The Nancy McKeen Bluz Machine rocked the Altar Bar on St. Patricks Day 2011 as one of the opening acts for the Blasters. And in traditional Bluz Machine style, they never disappoint.
Despite the ominous weather forecast, Brynn Marie still brought a large crowd to Rinky Dinks Roadhouse last night in Amity, Pa.
Pittsburgh’s own Revolution Radio was the opening band for the recent Lovebettie show at Altar Bar. Their style is a blend of reggae, punk, hip-hop and classic rock.
As the fourth stop on Lovebettie’s 2011 Abolitionist Tour: Road to Austin, Pittsburgh’s Altar Bar was the setting for the cd release party for Lovebettie’s “The Red Door” LP. With the ever popular songs like Red Roses and Monsters, this five song LP is pure excellence.

Pete Bush and the Hoi Palloi were one of two opening bands for the Lovebettie CD Release Party held at Pittsburgh’s Altar Bar last Friday night. Combining jazz, punk and a little rockabilly, they have managed to create an infectious groove that grabs you by the throat and doesn’t let go. (more…)
